The mother-daughter team of Windy City Jewelry has been serving the Chicagoland area since 1982.  We have designed and created a number of different products over the years such as hair accessories, hats and jackets.  Since 1995 we have specialized in the transformation of vintage glass bead and crystal jewelry from 1920-1960 into truly unique designs which are wearable today.

Many pieces are one-of-a-kind and the beads are accented with materials gathered from all over the world such as Bali sterling silver, vintage or new Swarovski (c) Austrian crystals, Venetian glass beads from Italy and vintage Czech, German, and Japanese glass beads.  Vintage costume jewelry pieces such as brooches and earrings may also be incorporated into the designs.  Each piece is individually handmade with the greatest attention to detail and the highest quality materials at very reasonable prices.  A wide price range is available to suit any budget.

In addition to offering our handmade pieces, we have a Jewelry Redesign service available.  For a nominal fee we can transform a vintage glass or crystal necklace into a memorable piece by combining it with additional materials.

The jewelry is formed using a combination of wire-wrapping and stringing, which gives it a delicate look but is very sturdy.  Every metal component used is .925 pure sterling silver, 14KT gold filled or genuine copper.  Another unique aspect of some of the designs is the use of oxidized sterling silver.  An acid solution is hand applied to bright silver to give the jewelry an antique look.

The jewelry is very easy to maintain.  Bright sterling silver can be polished with a polishing cloth or by using a silver cleaning paste or liquid.  Keeping bright sterling silver jewelry in a plastic bag when not worn greatly retards the tarnishing process.  Oxidized sterling silver jewelry requires no maintenance.

Custom orders are always welcomed.  We are happy to create custom jewelry designs for weddings, school dances or any other special occasions.  Designs are available in a large variety of colors and lengths.

We also offer the opportunity for you to host a Home Jewelry Party, which allows you as the hostess to receive fantastic cash or jewelry incentives.

The Jewelry Gallery includes just a small fraction of examples from our collection, which includes a vast selection of drop earrings, necklaces and bracelets.  Inventory is constantly changing so check the Gallery often.

Jewelry can be shipped via UPS or U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail.  PayPal, VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card or personal checks are accepted and standard shipping charges will apply.
