This is a darling handcrafted pincushion featuring a vintage porcelain figurine of a white West Highland Terrier and a Black Scottish Terrier. A real pincushion has been covered with leopard design jacquard fabric and topped with layers of felt hand-cut into floral shapes. The pincushion is further embellished with green ombre French wired ribbon, black feathers, various vintage components and Czech glass beads. It measures 4 1/2 inches in height by 3 3/8 inches in diameter. Also included are the straight pins with glass heads. This one-of-a-kind pincushion is an adorable decorative element for any room or would make a great gift for that special seamstress in your life! The mother-daughter team of Annamarie and Brigid McAlpin has been serving the Chicagoland area since 1982. We have designed and created a number of different products over the years such as hair accessories, hats and jackets. Since 1995 we have designed vintage glass bead and crystal jewelry under the company name Windy City Jewelry. In 2004 we formed an artist's group, Flower Girls Gifts, to provide local boutiques and galleries with an expanded selection of floral-themed gifts in addition to the jewelry. Annamarie has branched off on her own to create these pincushions along with felt floral brooches with similar vintage embellishments. |
